This remanufactured GMC Gen. 2 6.0L engine includes the following enhancements from Fraser Engines:

  • Bore and hone all cylinders to OEM clearances (We check all clearances within .0001 of inch),
  • Decking cylinder head(s) and block for straightness,
  • Cutting valve seats and valves to proper degree,
  • Line boring/honing crankshaft/camshaft tunnels,
  • Ground & polish crankshaft, new or remanufactured camshaft(s),
  • New main bearings, rod bearings, pistons, piston rings, lifters, pushrods (if equipped), timing components, oil pump, head bolts,
  • All new internal gaskets and seals.
  • All finishing gaskets are included (MAY VARY PER APPLICATION).


GMC Gen. 2 6.0L Engines

The GMC Gen. 2 6.0L 2007-2016 engine is a V8 engine designed for use in General Motors vehicles.

The base engine consists of:

An all-aluminum engine block and cylinder head
Dual Overhead Camshafts (DOHC)
Variable Valve Timing (VVT)
Sequential multi-port fuel injection

The engine specifications include:

  • A displacement of 366 cubic inches (6,0L)
  • 4.0 in x 3.6 in (101.6 mm x 92 mm) cylinder bore and piston stroke
  • 9.6:1 or 10.4:1 compression ratio
  • 360 to 401 horsepower (268 to 299 kW) at 5,400 to 5,600 rpm
  • 380 to 464 lb-ft (515 to 629 Nm) of torque at 4,200 to 4,600 rpm

The GMC Gen. 2 6.0L engine features a cast aluminum block, six-bolt main bearing caps, and a high-strength forged steel crankshaft. It also includes aluminum heads with integrated exhaust manifolds, which help reduce weight and improve performance. The engine uses advanced technologies like Variable Valve Timing and a high-pressure fuel system to optimize performance and fuel efficiency.

The GMC Gen. 2 6.0L engine is used in various General Motors applications, including the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe, and Cadillac Escalade. It provides ample power and torque for heavy-duty towing and hauling applications while also delivering impressive fuel efficiency.
