This remanufactured FORD 3.0L engine includes the following enhancements from Fraser Engines:

  • Bore and hone all cylinders to OEM clearances (We check all clearances within .0001 of inch),
  • Decking cylinder head(s) and block for straightness,
  • Cutting valve seats and valves to proper degree,
  • Line boring/honing crankshaft/camshaft tunnels,
  • Ground & polish crankshaft, new or remanufactured camshaft(s),
  • New main bearings, rod bearings, pistons, piston rings, lifters, pushrods (if equipped), timing components, oil pump, head bolts,
  • All new internal gaskets and seals.
  • All finishing gaskets are included (MAY VARY PER APPLICATION).


FORD 3.0L Engines

The FORD Vulcan OHV Long Block 3.0 Liter Engine 1986-2008 is a V6 engine specifically designed for use in vehicles manufactured by Ford Motor Company.

The engine features:

A cast iron engine block and cylinder head
Overhead valves (OHV)
Non-Variable Valve Timing
Sequential multi-port fuel injection

The engine specifications are as follows:

  • A displacement of 182 cubic inches (2,986 cubic centimeters)
  • 3.50 in x 3.13 in (88.9 mm x 79.5 mm) cylinder bore and piston stroke
  • 8.9:1 or 9.2:1 compression ratio
  • 140 to 150 horsepower (104 to 112 kW) at 4,900 to 5,000 rpm
  • 160 to 190 lb-ft (217 to 258 Nm) of torque at 2,500 to 4,000 rpm

The FORD Vulcan OHV Long Block 3.0 Liter Engine was first introduced in 1986 and continued production until 2008. The engine was widely used in various Ford applications, including the Taurus, Ranger, Aerostar, Windstar, and Mazda B-Series trucks.

Although the FORD Vulcan OHV Long Block 3.0 Liter Engine may not have the same level of fame as the Nissan VQ35DE engine, it has proven to be a reliable and durable workhorse for Ford vehicles for over two decades.
