This remanufactured Chevy/GMC 454 7.4L engine includes the following enhancements from Fraser Engines:

  • Bore and hone all cylinders to OEM clearances (We check all clearances within .0001 of inch),
  • Decking cylinder head(s) and block for straightness,
  • Cutting valve seats and valves to proper degree,
  • Line boring/honing crankshaft/camshaft tunnels,
  • Ground & polish crankshaft, new or remanufactured camshaft(s),
  • New main bearings, rod bearings, pistons, piston rings, lifters, pushrods (if equipped), timing components, oil pump, head bolts,
  • All new internal gaskets and seals.
  • All finishing gaskets are included (MAY VARY PER APPLICATION).

Chevy/GMC 454 7.4L Engines

The Chevy/GMC 7.4L engine, also known as the 454, is a V8 engine designed specifically for heavy-duty vehicles and trucks from General Motors Corporation.

The base engine consists of:

A cast-iron engine block and cylinder head
Overhead valves (OHV)
Throttle body fuel injection (TBI)

The engine specifications include:

  • A displacement of 454 cubic inches (7.4 liters)
  • 4.25 in x 4.0 in (107.95 mm x 101.6 mm) cylinder bore and piston stroke
  • 7.8:1, 8.4:1, or 9.4:1 compression ratio
  • 230 to 290 horsepower (172 to 216 kW) at 3,800 to 4,000 rpm
  • 385 to 410 lb-ft (522 to 556 Nm) of torque at 2,800 to 3,200 rpm
