This remanufactured GMC 3.0L engine includes the following enhancements from Fraser Engines:

  • Bore and hone all cylinders to OEM clearances (We check all clearances within .0001 of inch),
  • Decking cylinder head(s) and block for straightness,
  • Cutting valve seats and valves to proper degree,
  • Line boring/honing crankshaft/camshaft tunnels,
  • Ground & polish crankshaft, new or remanufactured camshaft(s),
  • New main bearings, rod bearings, pistons, piston rings, lifters, pushrods (if equipped), timing components, oil pump, head bolts,
  • All new internal gaskets and seals.
  • All finishing gaskets are included (MAY VARY PER APPLICATION).


GMC 3.0L Engines

The GMC 3.0L engine (LUZ) is a four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine designed by General Motors for use in various vehicles.

The base engine consists of:

An all-aluminum engine block and cylinder head
Double Overhead Camshafts (DOHC)
Common rail direct injection fuel system (CRDi)
Variable geometry turbocharger (VGT)

The engine specifications include:

  • A displacement of 183.07 cubic inches (2,998 cubic centimeters)
  • 3.70 in x 3.94 in (94 mm x 100 mm) cylinder bore and piston stroke
  • 16.5:1 compression ratio
  • 181 horsepower (135 kW) at 3,400 rpm
  • 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque at 2,000 to 4,000 rpm

The GMC 3.0L engine was introduced in 2010, and it quickly became a popular option for vehicles such as the Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans, as well as the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks. It features an advanced diesel combustion system, which provides improved fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and quieter operation compared to traditional diesel engines. Additionally, it includes a particulate filter, which helps reduce particulate emissions and contributes to cleaner air. The GMC 3.0L engine continues to be a reliable and efficient option for a variety of vehicles.
