The FORD 6.2L (Boss) engine was first introduced in 2011 as an option for heavy-duty pickup trucks and commercial vehicles. The engine’s large displacement and low-end torque make it ideal for towing and hauling applications. The Boss engine features a cast iron block with aluminum heads, and has been updated throughout the years with improvements such as cylinder deactivation and direct injection.
The FORD 6.2L (Boss) is used in various Ford applications, including the F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks, as well as in the Ford E-Series and Transit commercial vans. The engine is also used in various specialty vehicles, such as the Ford Raptor and F-150 SVT Raptor.

Use conventional or break-in oil (non-synthetic) for the first 600 miles of operation. Do not drive for long periods at any single speed, always vary your speed. Do not tow a trailer or put other heavy loads on the vehicle. Check the engine oil and coolant levels daily.
At 600 Miles change the engine oil and filter using conventional (non-synthetic) oil. Check fuel and ignition settings; adjust valves (where applicable).
After the first 5,000 of service synthetic engine oil may be used. Follow your vehicle owner’s manual for service intervals.
