This remanufactured Dodge/Chrysler 5.2L engine includes the following enhancements from Fraser Engines:

  • Bore and hone all cylinders to OEM clearances (We check all clearances within .0001 of inch),
  • Decking cylinder head(s) and block for straightness,
  • Cutting valve seats and valves to proper degree,
  • Line boring/honing crankshaft/camshaft tunnels,
  • Ground & polish crankshaft, new or remanufactured camshaft(s),
  • New main bearings, rod bearings, pistons, piston rings, lifters, pushrods (if equipped), timing components, oil pump, head bolts,
  • All new internal gaskets and seals.
  • All finishing gaskets are included (MAY VARY PER APPLICATION).

Dodge/Chrysler 5.2L Engines

The Dodge/Chrysler 5.2L engine (LA Magnum series) is a V8 engine designed for various Chrysler Corporation vehicles, including Dodge and Jeep models.

The base engine consists of:

An iron engine block and aluminum cylinder heads
Overhead Valvetrain (OHV)
Throttle-body fuel injection or multi-port fuel injection
Hydraulic roller camshaft

The engine specifications include:

  • A displacement of 318 cubic inches (5,211 cubic centimeters)
  • 3.91 in x 3.31 in (99.3 mm x 84.1 mm) cylinder bore and piston stroke
  • 9.1:1 or 9.2:1 compression ratio
  • 230 to 245 horsepower (172 to 183 kW) at 4,000 to 4,400 rpm
  • 295 to 305 lb-ft (400 to 414 Nm) of torque at 2,800 to 3,200 rpm

The LA Magnum series engine has been used in various Chrysler Corporation vehicles from 1991 to 2001, including the Dodge Ram, Dakota, Durango, and Charger, as well as the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The engine is known for its durability and reliability, with many examples still on the road today. Its versatility made it popular among car enthusiasts for its potential to produce high horsepower and torque numbers with simple modifications, such as aftermarket intake manifolds, headers, and exhaust systems.
