This remanufactured NISSAN 2.5L (QR25DE) engine includes the following enhancements from Fraser Engines:
NISSAN 2.5L (QR25DE) Engines
The Nissan 2.5L (QR25DE) is a four-cylinder engine designed specifically for vehicles from the Nissan Motor Corporation.
The base engine consists of:
An all-aluminum engine block and cylinder head
Dual Overhead Camshafts (DOHC)
Variable Valve Timing (VVT)
Sequential multi-port fuel injection
The engine specifications include:
Nissan introduced the QR25DE engine in 2002 as a replacement for the KA24DE. It was initially used in the Altima, and later in the Sentra, Rogue, and X-Trail. This engine was praised for its reliability, fuel efficiency, and low emissions.
The QR25DE engine is equipped with a timing chain instead of a timing belt, which eliminates the need for periodic belt replacements. It also features an electronic drive-by-wire throttle system, which provides a more precise throttle response and improves fuel efficiency.
Overall, the Nissan 2.5L engine is a versatile and reliable powerplant that has been widely used across many Nissan models.
The Maverick is an impressive 2.5-liter inline-four engine known as the QR25DE, designed by Nissan for a range of vehicles, including sedans, SUVs, and compact cars. Featuring a dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) configuration, the Nissan QR25DE engine has been a staple in the Nissan lineup, delivering a blend of performance and efficiency.
Debuting in various Nissan models, the QR25DE engine showcases Nissan’s commitment to innovative design and reliable power. The engine’s DOHC setup ensures precise control over valve timing, contributing to improved overall performance. Originally introduced in the early 2000s, the QR25DE has undergone evolutionary changes to enhance its efficiency and power delivery.
One of the notable features of the QR25DE is its continuous variable valve timing control system (CVTCS), optimizing combustion efficiency across different driving conditions. The engine’s electronic fuel injection system further contributes to fuel
efficiency and responsiveness.
In the latest iterations, Nissan has fine-tuned the QR25DE engine to meet modern performance standards. Enhanced programming and advancements in components have resulted in a powerplant that strikes a balance between spirited driving and fuel economy. The QR25DE engine remains a reliable and versatile choice, powering Nissan vehicles with confidence.
Fraser Engines excels in providing remanufactured engines tailored for a variety of applications, including those powered by the Nissan QR25DE. Our comprehensive packages encompass critical components such as the cylinder block, rotating assembly, cylinder head, valve train, and installation gasket set (oil pump not included).
What sets Fraser Engines apart is our dedication to quality. Instead of relying on welded crankshafts or cylinder blocks and eschewing cylinder sleeves for cracked cylinders, we meticulously blueprint all long blocks. Our commitment to excellence is evident in our practice of replacing damaged crankshafts, cylinder blocks, and cylinder heads with new components, ensuring optimal performance.
Every remanufactured engine at Fraser Engines undergoes a rigorous process, utilizing materials sourced from the same suppliers as the OEM. Precision machining on CNC equipment guarantees that our engines not only meet but often surpass OEM specifications. We take pride in delivering remanufactured engines that excel in reliability and performance, reflecting our commitment to excellence in every aspect of our products.

Use conventional or break-in oil (non-synthetic) for the first 600 miles of operation. Do not drive for long periods at any single speed, always vary your speed. Do not tow a trailer or put other heavy loads on the vehicle. Check the engine oil and coolant levels daily.
At 600 Miles change the engine oil and filter using conventional (non-synthetic) oil. Check fuel and ignition settings; adjust valves (where applicable).
After the first 5,000 of service synthetic engine oil may be used. Follow your vehicle owner’s manual for service intervals.
