Why registration matters

Registration is what turns your warranty on

Fraser’s written warranty requires registration. Unregistered engines and transmissions are not covered — and it’s the single most common reason a claim can’t be processed.

🛡 Activates coverage

Your 3- or 5-Year / Unlimited-Mile parts & labor warranty — and any No-Fault upgrade — starts the day of installation once registered.

📅 Sets your start date

Installation date and mileage on file establish when coverage begins and prevent disputes later.

⚡ Faster claims

Serial number, VIN and installer are already on file, so the Warranty Department can authorize a claim without chasing paperwork.

🔁 Transferable record

A registered unit is documented for resale and for any No-Fault replacement.

Before you start

What you’ll need to register

  • Fraser invoice / order number — on your receipt or order confirmation email
  • Engine or transmission serial number — stamped or tagged on the unit (see below)
  • Vehicle’s 17-digit VIN — door-jamb sticker, dash plate or registration
  • Installation date and mileage at installation
  • Installer information — shop name, address and phone (or “self-installed”)
  • Installation invoice — keep it; it’s required for labor reimbursement on a claim
  • Your contact details — name, phone, email and mailing address

Tip: take a clear photo of the serial-number tag and your installation invoice before the engine goes in — you’ll want both if you ever need to file a claim.

Where to find it

Locating your serial number

Every Fraser unit carries a serial number on a metal tag, sticker or stamped pad. Enter it exactly as shown, including letters and dashes. Typical locations are pictured below.

Serial number tag location example 1

Engine serial tag

Metal tag or sticker on the block — commonly on the rear of the block near the bellhousing, the front timing cover, or the side of the block above the oil pan rail.

Serial number tag location example 2

Stamped pad / valve cover

Some units are stamped on a machined pad or carry a serial sticker on the valve cover or intake — check both sides of the engine.

AER partner serial tag example

Partner-built units (AER)

Engines built by Fraser’s manufacturing partners carry the partner’s tag — enter the number printed on it along with your Fraser invoice number.

Transmissions: the serial tag is usually on the side of the case or on the bellhousing; transfer cases and differentials carry a tag on the housing. Still can’t find it? Call 800-731-3177 and the Warranty Department will locate it from your order.

What you’re registering

Your Fraser warranty coverage

Standard Remanufactured3 Years / Unlimited Miles

Parts & labor nationwide warranty

Fraser Advantage™Included5 Years / Unlimited Miles

Parts & labor nationwide PLUS 1 year of FREE No-Fault coverage

No-Fault upgrades

1–5 year No-Fault protection ($99–$499) purchased with your engine is registered at the same time — it covers failures a standard warranty excludes, including overheating and lubrication issues.

Labor reimbursement

Covered labor is paid at Mitchell or ALLDATA book time when the unit is installed by a licensed repair facility. DIY installations are covered for parts.

What can void coverage

Unregistered units, unauthorized teardown or repair, overheating, contamination, improper installation, or failure to correct the original cause of failure. Follow the crate tag and break-in instructions.

What happens next

After you register

01Confirmation email. You’ll receive a registration confirmation — save it with your invoice. If it doesn’t arrive within one business day, check spam or call us.
02Follow the break-in procedure. Use the specified oil and filter, prime the system, verify oil pressure at first start and change the oil per the instructions supplied with the unit.
03Keep your maintenance records. Oil-change receipts and mileage documentation are required for any claim during the coverage period.
04Return your core. If you haven’t already, schedule your free core pickup so any deposit is refunded.

If something goes wrong

How to file a warranty claim

Stop driving the vehicle and contact Fraser before any teardown or repair — unauthorized work can void coverage.

Step 1

Contact the Warranty Department

Submit a claim through the Warranty Center or call 800-731-3177 with your registration and symptoms.

Step 2

Provide documentation

Installation invoice, maintenance records, mileage, diagnostic codes and photos as requested.

Step 3

Get authorization

A Fraser engine specialist reviews the claim and authorizes inspection, repair or replacement. Standard-warranty units may require plant inspection; No-Fault claims get a hassle-free replacement.

Step 4

Repair & reimbursement

Covered parts are supplied and labor is reimbursed at Mitchell / ALLDATA book time to your licensed installer.

Registration FAQs

Questions about warranty registration

Do I have to register my warranty?

Yes. Fraser’s written warranty requires registration to be active. Register within 30 days of installation; unregistered units are not eligible for claims.

When should I register?

As soon as the engine or transmission is installed — you need the installation date, mileage and installer information to complete the form. Registering the day of installation is ideal.

Can my installer register it for me?

Yes. Many repair shops register on the customer’s behalf; just make sure your name, phone and email are entered as the owner so the confirmation and any claim correspondence reach you.

What if I bought a No-Fault upgrade?

No-Fault coverage is tied to your invoice and is registered along with the base warranty on this form. Your confirmation will show the coverage level on file.

I installed it myself — can I still register?

Yes. Enter “self-installed” for the installer. DIY installations are covered for parts; labor reimbursement requires a licensed repair facility.

I can’t find the serial number.

Check the locations pictured above — block tag, stamped pad, valve cover, or the partner tag on AER-built units; transmissions are tagged on the case. If it’s already installed and hidden, call 800-731-3177 and the Warranty Department can locate the serial from your order.

I didn’t get a confirmation email.

Check your spam folder first. If it isn’t there within one business day, call 800-731-3177 or email sales@fraserengines.com and we’ll confirm your registration is on file.

Does the warranty transfer if I sell the vehicle?

Transferability is governed by the written warranty terms supplied with your product. Contact the Warranty Department with the new owner’s details to update the record.
