This engine was designed to be a performance upgrade for LS based vehicles or perfect for a 2001-2007 Chevy Truck LQ4 or LS swap in a hot rod. Expect big mid to upper end power, will have a noticeable idle. For optimal Performance you will need headers, chassis dyno tune and 36lb injectors.

This engine is a direct replacement for the 2001–2007 Chevy 6.0L LQ4 engine. Important Installation Notes:

  • ECM Tuning: The ECM must be tuned to ensure proper engine function. Skipping this step can lead to engine damage.
  • PCV System: A PCV valve is required for optimal performance.
  • Air-Oil Separator: We recommend using an air-oil separator, such as the Moroso #85487, to capture excess crankcase vapors commonly produced by LS engines.
  • MAP Sensor Settings: If you are not using a MAP sensor, set the MAP timing option in the timing control box to zero across the board. This prevents the controller from adding timing, which could otherwise cause detonation.
  • Steam Line Kit: A steam line kit, preferably a 4-corner setup like the Trick Flow #TFS-306SB601, is required to allow air pockets and hot spots to escape from the heads. This setup should connect to your water pump, radiator, or radiator hose and can also be used to purge trapped air when filling the radiator initially.
