Built for performance. The 2018-and-newer 5.0L added port plus direct injection, a higher compression ratio, plasma-transferred wire-arc cylinder liners and 460 hp in the Mustang GT, and it is not interchangeable with the 2011–2017 engines. The two builds on this page are made specifically for 2018+ Mustang GT and F-150 applications. Need a 2011–2017 Coyote? See our main 5.0L Coyote page.
Fraser Engines sells zero-mile remanufactured Gen 3 5.0L Coyotes for the 2018–2023 Mustang GT, 2019–2020 Bullitt, 2021–2023 Mach 1 and 2018+ F-150 in two builds:
Fraser × PRMR Bare Long Block: $6,900, 3-year / unlimited-mile warranty.
Fraser × DMHR Fully Loaded: $8,699, with oil pan, timing cover and valve covers installed, 5-year / unlimited-mile warranty plus 1 year of free No-Fault.
Both get an upgraded block, updated heads and every OEM and aftermarket TSB update, with timing, phaser and oil-control fixes built in. Fraser matches every order to your VIN. Call 888-599-8839 (press 1 for sales).
For 2018, Ford redesigned the Coyote: it added direct injection alongside port injection, raised compression, replaced the iron cylinder liners with plasma-transferred wire-arc (PTWA) coatings, and grew the bore slightly to 5,038 cc. The fuel system, sensors, wiring and engine computer all changed with it, so a 2011–2017 engine can't simply drop into a 2018+ vehicle, or the other way around.
The line on the other side matters too: the 2024+ S650 Mustang uses a Gen 4 Coyote, which is not covered by this page. And within Gen 3, F-150 truck engines differ from Mustang car engines in cams, intake and accessory layout. That's why Fraser matches every Gen 3 Coyote to your full 17-character VIN.
Both builds get an upgraded block, updated heads and every OEM and aftermarket TSB update, with timing, phaser and oil-control fixes built in.
The core engine, ready for your shop to transfer the pan, covers, intake and accessories from the old engine.
Arrives with the oil pan, timing cover and valve covers installed: the fastest path back on the road.
The Fully Loaded build carries the best coverage available on a Gen 3 Coyote. Fraser handles warranty claims directly with engine specialists, not call-center reps; labor is reimbursed using Mitchell or ALLDATA book time. Optional No-Fault upgrades from 1 to 5 years are available on either build. Coverage, eligibility, exclusions and claim procedures are governed by Fraser Engines' written warranty agreement.
The engines on this page fit 2018-and-newer Gen 3 Coyote applications only. Truck and car engines differ in cams, intake and accessory layout, so Fraser matches every order to your VIN before shipment.

The Coyote is a strong, high-revving V8, but its cam phasers, timing hardware and oil-control design have well-documented weak points, and F-150s that tow and Mustangs that get driven hard put serious load on them.
Gen 3 engines are known for oil use from ring seal and PCV design, and low oil is what kills phasers and bearings.
Worn Ti-VCT phasers and stretched chains cause the start-up rattle, cam timing codes and eventual camshaft damage.
High-mileage engines wear through guides and lose tensioner pressure, letting the chains slap and jump time.
The Gen 3 tick from lash adjusters, followers or piston slap often signals wear that only a rebuild corrects.
Cooling-system failures warp the aluminum heads and damage head gaskets and sealing surfaces.
Hard driving, track use and heavy towing accelerate ring, bearing and timing wear.
Some Coyote issues can be repaired externally, but a jumped timing chain, a wiped cam from phaser failure, heavy oil consumption, low compression or internal wear make replacement the smarter long-term repair.
Every Fraser Coyote is torn down to the bare block and rebuilt in a controlled, multi-step process. Both builds receive every applicable OEM and aftermarket Technical Service Bulletin update, so known weak points are corrected before the engine ships.
Unknown mileage, hard use and timing wear you can't see.
Reuse marginal parts and skip the updates. The same failure comes back.
Fully remanufactured, TSB-updated, VIN-verified Gen 3 fitment, with No-Fault upgrades available on either build.
A used Coyote may already have rattling phasers, worn timing guides, oil consumption, overheating history or internal wear from hard use. Fraser remanufactured Gen 3 Coyotes are a cleaner, stronger long-term repair with professional remanufacturing, VIN-based fitment support and warranty options, so Mustang and F-150 owners can repair the vehicle correctly the first time.
A used Coyote may come from a wrecked Mustang or a hard-towed F-150 with unknown mileage, rattling phasers, worn timing guides, oil consumption or internal wear. Even if it currently runs, hidden timing or bearing wear may already exist. Instead of gambling on another used performance engine, you receive a professionally renewed replacement backed by Fraser's powertrain-focused support.

With the bare long block, reseal the transferred pan, timing cover and valve covers with new gaskets. Gen 3 engines are sensitive to oil level, so check the dipstick often during the first few thousand miles. Your engine ships with Fraser's installation guidelines; follow them closely and keep your receipts.
These are Gen 3 Coyotes for 2018–2023 Mustangs and 2018+ F-150s. Gen 3 added port plus direct injection, higher compression and new liners, so it doesn't interchange with 2011–2017 engines. The 2024+ Mustang uses a Gen 4.
The core engine: block, crank, rods, pistons, heads, cams and timing. Your shop transfers the pan, covers, intake and accessories. The Fraser × PRMR long block is $6,900 with a 3-year / unlimited-mile warranty.
The Fraser × DMHR Fully Loaded arrives with oil pan, timing cover and valve covers installed. It's $8,699 with a 5-year / unlimited-mile warranty plus 1 year free No-Fault.
For most owners, yes. A used Gen 3 has unknown mileage, oil use and timing wear. A Fraser Gen 3 is zero-mile, TSB-updated, VIN-matched and warrantied 3 or 5 years with unlimited miles.
Oil consumption, phaser and timing rattle, guide and tensioner wear, the BBQ tick, overheating damage and wear from hard driving or towing.
