Labor reimbursement
Authorized repairs are paid at Mitchell flat-rate time, at the original installation rate up to $95 per hour. No extra hours for custom, show or modified vehicles. Do-it-yourself installs and unlicensed shops do not qualify for labor; the unit must be installed by a licensed automotive repair facility.
Start-up requirements (high-performance)
- Adjust valves to specification at initial start-up; re-torque heads where the factory manual calls for it
- Between 600 and 1,000 miles: change oil and filter, re-adjust valves, re-torque heads
- Skipping these steps can void coverage
Not covered under this program
- Competition, racing or excessive-RPM damage, including broken cranks, rods, rings or valve train
- Pre-ignition or detonation damage, such as melted pistons, broken rings, damaged heads or leaking head gaskets
- Foreign objects in the cylinders; crank thrust wear from excessive forward pressure
- Cooling, fuel, electrical and ignition components, belts, hoses and filters
- Aftermarket parts such as distributors, carburetors, water, fuel and oil pumps, which carry their own vendor warranty
Program conditions
- Coverage applies only to units shipped to and used in the contiguous 48 states; units shipped internationally carry no warranty
- Failed products must be returned to Fraser for inspection; units not returned are not warranted
- Unauthorized repairs are not paid
- Fraser may substitute parts or change specifications
Fraser Precision Long Block

Labor reimbursement
Approved labor is paid at $__ per flat-rate hour, up to $___ per claim. Performance engines (HO, stroker, marine performance) carry no labor for removal or replacement; coverage is for manufacturing and parts defects on the original engine, as determined by Fraser inspection.
Break-in & oil
- Follow the supplied break-in procedure and use break-in oil exactly as specified
- Not following break-in or oil requirements voids coverage
- Camshaft lobe and lifter wear on flat-tappet engines is not covered
Program conditions
- Coverage is non-transferable unless the Fraser Warranty Department is notified and approves the transfer
- Fraser is not responsible for the installer's work, parts transferred from the original engine, or unauthorized repairs
- The rebuildable core must be ready for pickup or paid in full within 30 days; otherwise coverage is void and the core is billed at market value
Fraser No-Fault Limited Warranty
No-Fault coverage takes the question of fault off the table. If a registered unit has a catastrophic internal failure during your No-Fault term, Fraser replaces it one time at no charge for the unit, whatever caused the failure. It supplements your program warranty and does not replace it.
Tiers
- Included No-Fault (Fraser Advantage™ builds)
- 1 year, no charge
- 1-Year Upgrade
- 1 year
- 2-Year Upgrade
- 2 years
- 3-Year Upgrade
- 3 years
- 4-Year Premium Pay
- 4 years + towing & rental
- 5-Year Elite Maxx
- 5 years + towing & rental
The term starts on the installation date and ends at the tier's end date or when the one-time replacement is used, whichever comes first. It does not restart after a replacement and cannot be renewed.
What's covered
- Catastrophic internal failure from any cause, including overheating, loss of oil, contamination, installation error, wrong fluids, or an uncorrected problem left over from the old unit
- Examples: cracked block, head or case; broken or seized crank; thrown rod; spun bearing with journal damage; hydro-lock damage; loss of drive in all ranges from a broken transmission hard part
- Parts for authorized field repairs (gaskets, seals, sensors, lifters, timing parts, oil pump, valve body and similar), plus labor per your tier
- Freight on the replacement unit and pickup of the failed unit at a commercial address in the continental U.S.
Field-repair-first rule
When Fraser determines a problem can be fixed in the field, that repair must be done as authorized before replacement is considered. Field repairs do not use up your one-time replacement. If the authorized repair doesn't restore the unit, or the installer documents a catastrophic failure during the repair, Fraser moves to replacement. Refusing or skipping an authorized field repair forfeits the replacement.
Replacement unit
- Fraser chooses a like-kind unit, which may be remanufactured, new or partner-built
- The replacement is covered only by the balance of your program warranty, not by No-Fault
- Return the complete failed unit, undisassembled and drained, in the replacement's crate within 30 days, or you'll be billed the replacement's value
- Installation, programming and component transfer are done by a licensed installer; labor is paid per Schedule A
Conditions you must meet
- Register within 30 days of installation (late registration up to 90 days from invoice starts coverage on the invoice date; after 90 days coverage is void)
- Install per Fraser instructions, red-tag notices and factory procedures; correct the cause of the old unit's failure
- Use specified fluids, prime oil and verify pressure before first start, and follow break-in
- Keep dated, itemized maintenance records
- Stop driving at the first sign of trouble and notify Fraser within 10 days, before any teardown
- Keep serial tags intact and your account paid in full, including cores
Not covered by No-Fault
- Failures after the term ends or after the replacement is used, and any failure of the replacement unit
- Parts not listed on the Fraser invoice, including transferred or third-party components
- Collision, fire, flood, freezing, theft and similar outside events
- Racing, operation beyond factory limits, or unauthorized tuning and modifications
- Continuing to drive after a warning sign, where that turned a repairable problem into a failure
- Work done before an Authorization Number is issued; altered serial tags; false claims

Terms that apply to all Fraser units
Required
- Register the unit within 30 days of installation with invoice number, serial number, VIN, install date and mileage, and installer details
- Get Fraser's authorization before any diagnosis, teardown, repair or removal
- Install in the application the unit was sold for, using factory-spec fuel, oil and coolant
- Service at the intervals in Fraser's instructions, or the vehicle maker's if shorter, and keep the receipts
- Use a licensed automotive repair facility for labor to be reimbursed
Never covered
- Abuse, misuse, accident, fire or lack of maintenance
- Overheating, lack of lubrication or contamination (unless you hold No-Fault coverage)
- Towing, rental, lodging, lost time or income, storage and other consequential costs (unless your No-Fault tier lists them)
- Ignition, fuel, sensor, cooling and other maintenance parts not related to the failure
- Costs from misdiagnosis or above the allowed limits
Good to know
- A repair or replacement never extends the original term
- Only failures inside the contiguous United States are covered
- Fraser decides whether to repair, replace or refund under the program warranty
- No installer, dealer or sales rep can change these terms
How to file a claim
Follow these steps in order. Skipping step 2 is the most common reason a claim is denied.
- Stop driving. At the first warning light, noise, overheating or loss of oil pressure, pull over and don't restart.
- Call Fraser before anyone opens the unit. Call 800-731-3177 or use the online claim form, and get your Authorization Number.
- Have your details ready. Invoice number, serial number, part number, VIN, install date and mileage, current mileage, installer name and phone, symptoms and trouble codes.
- Preserve the evidence. Don't drain fluids, pull the filter or take anything apart until Fraser says so.
- Send what Fraser asks for. Photos, video, compression and leak-down results, oil pressure readings, a cut-open filter, and the installer's written diagnosis, within 14 days.
- Get the estimate approved. The installer submits a Mitchell or ALLDATA estimate. Only approved labor is paid.
- Return the failed unit. Ship it complete and undisassembled, with your Authorization Number and paperwork.
- Submit for payment within 30 days. Send the original and current repair orders, parts receipts and maintenance records.
Legal terms
Limited warranty. Each program on this page is a limited warranty under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, issued by Fraser Engine Rebuilders, Inc., d/b/a Fraser Engines & Transmissions. Your remedy is limited to repair, replacement or refund as stated in your program, plus any reimbursement your program or No-Fault tier lists.
Implied warranties. Any implied warranty, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, is limited to the length of your program warranty. Some states do not allow limits on how long an implied warranty lasts, so this limit may not apply to you.
Damages. Fraser is not liable for incidental or consequential damages, and its total liability will not exceed the price paid for the unit. Some states do not allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state.
Governing law. Michigan law governs. Disputes are heard only in the state courts of Macomb County, Michigan, or the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, as set out in the Fraser Terms Agreement and No-Fault Limited Warranty.
Changes. Fraser may revise these terms for units invoiced after the revision date. The terms in effect on your invoice date govern your coverage.
