This remanufactured GMC/CHEVY/BUICK 5.3L engine includes the following enhancements from Fraser Engines:

  • Bore and hone all cylinders to OEM clearances (We check all clearances within .0001 of inch),
  • Decking cylinder head(s) and block for straightness,
  • Cutting valve seats and valves to proper degree,
  • Line boring/honing crankshaft/camshaft tunnels,
  • Ground & polish crankshaft, new or remanufactured camshaft(s),
  • New main bearings, rod bearings, pistons, piston rings, lifters, pushrods (if equipped), timing components, oil pump, head bolts,
  • All new internal gaskets and seals.
  • All finishing gaskets are included (MAY VARY PER APPLICATION).


GMC/CHEVY/BUICK 5.3L Engines

The GMC/CHEVY/BUICK (Trailblazer/Envoy/Rainier) 5.3L 2004-2010 engine is a V8 engine designed for General Motors Corporation's mid-size SUVs.

The base engine consists of:

An all-aluminum engine block and cylinder head
Overhead Valve (OHV)
Variable Valve Timing (VVT)
Sequential fuel injection

The engine specifications include:

  • A displacement of 325 cubic inches (5,327 cubic centimeters)
  • 3.78 in x 3.62 in (96.0 mm x 92.0 mm) cylinder bore and piston stroke
  • 9.9:1 compression ratio
  • 290 to 315 horsepower (216 to 235 kW) at 5,200 to 5,600 rpm
  • 325 to 338 lb-ft (441 to 458 Nm) of torque at 4,000 to 4,600 rpm

The 5.3L engine made its debut in 1999 and became widely used in mid-size SUVs from General Motors, such as the GMC Envoy, Chevy Trailblazer, and Buick Rainier. It was praised for its power and towing capabilities, and later versions even included fuel-saving technologies like Active Fuel Management (AFM).

The 5.3L engine is used in various GMC/Chevy/Buick applications, including the Envoy, Trailblazer, Rainier, as well as the Chevy Silverado and Tahoe, and GMC Sierra and Yukon. It was also used in the Hummer H3 and H3T, and the Saab 9-7X.
