  • This engine is commonly known as the “Ford Lightning” engine, as it was used exclusively in the high-performance SVT F-150 Lightning pickup truck.
  • The engine is a V8 with a displacement of 5.4 liters (330 cubic inches).
  • It was equipped with a Eaton M112 Roots-type supercharger, which boosted output to 380 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque.
  • The engine featured an iron block and aluminum heads, with overhead camshafts and two valves per cylinder.
  • The Lightning’s engine was mated to a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a limited-slip rear differential.
  • The truck could go from 0-60 mph in under 6 seconds, making it one of the quickest pickup trucks of its time.
  • The Lightning was only produced from 1993-1995 and 1999-2004, with the 2002-2004 models being the most powerful and sought-after.
  • The engine’s high-performance components made it expensive to produce, and as a result, the Lightning was only produced in limited numbers

  • Bore and hone all cylinders to OEM clearances (We check all clearances within .0001 of inch),
  • Decking cylinder head(s) and block for straightness,
  • Cutting valve seats and valves to proper degree,
  • Line boring/honing crankshaft/camshaft tunnels,
  • Ground & polish crankshaft, new or remanufactured camshaft(s),
  • New main bearings, rod bearings, pistons, piston rings, lifters, pushrods (if equipped), timing components, oil pump, head bolts,
  • All new internal gaskets and seals.
  • All finishing gaskets are included (MAY VARY PER APPLICATION).
